Ectopic pregnancy is a condition where the pregnancy occurs in other parts of the pelvis other than within the uterus.
One in hundred pregnancies may be an ectopic pregnancy. The slow tubal transport mechanism may be responsible for an ectopic pregnancy although the exact mechanism is unknown.Patients should suspect an ectopic pregnancy when they have missed their period and have abdominal pain with or without vaginal spotting.The location and size of the ectopic mass dictates the mode of treatment.
